Memory Manager creates small versions of your images called “thumbnails” that are displayed in the image library. You might notice that the first time you get images into the Memory Vault that there is a slight delay the first time the thumbnails are displayed.
Memory Manager maintains a cache of these thumbnails so that is doesn’t need to recreate the thumbnails every time the application runs. When the cache reaches its maximum size, thumbnails that haven’t been used recently are deleted to make room for new thumbnails.
You can allow Memory Manager to use more disk space for the thumbnails. Doing so will reduce the time Memory Manager spends recreating thumbnails of images and improve the performance of the Image Library, especially with large archives. To increase the amount of space used, perform the following steps:
1. Click the Vault button to open the Start menu and select Welcome Page.
2. Click Show me more details from the display.
3. The Vault Information dialog box displays. Click on the Support tab.
4. In the Thumbnails space box, increase the amount of space, which is shown in megabytes (MB). The maximum amount allowed is 1000, which is 1 gigabyte (GB) of space.
5. Click Close to save the changes.
